The weather is what can only be described as glorious here at the moment. 24C yesterday and a perfect summer's day, except it's autumn...
I nipped home at lunch time and saw some red admirals in the front garden on the sedum (Her Over the Road has some magnificent dark pink...not that I'm envious or anything) and went for the camera.
So, there I was in the front garden, at school lunch time, and I live quite near school, and I don't tell the students where I live because... well, you never know. So there I am when two boys I know stop at the gate and one says 'Miss, what are you doing?' Bugger, rumbled.
'Letting a friend's dogs out'. Coward. And of course I just happen to carry a large camera with me when I visit this friend's house, and squat in her front garden. I don't think they were fooled for a moment, and fortunately they are very nice boys. But I think I'll be out this Halloween all the same...
The weather is a tad unseasonal, isn't it? I'd just welcomed autumn with open arms!

I can quite see your point about keeping your home address a deep secret !
I'm O.K. The pre-schoolers are all convinced that we live on the premises . If they see one of us in a supermarket or in town , they gawp , amazed .

There seems to be a proliferation of Red Admirals on Sedum this week, most odd. I'm so pleased that you are having sunshine at last. Shame you are at school though. Sensible of you to keep your address secret and I hope that you fooled the boys.

Sorry I didn't comment yesterday, but your comment form was sulking and wouldn't appear!! But your ivy did remind me to take a photo of ours, which has attached itself to te candlestick behind it. Then when I read your post this morning (your comment form was still sulking!!), I was slightly puzzled, as for a moment I thought you had somehow used the photos I had taken yesterday of the butterflies on the sedum! Hope you don't suffer come Hallowe'en from the pupils who saw you in the garden. It's another advantage of living in the middle of nowhere that there are no children to trouble us!

Oh my, those photos are amazing. We live close to the school I used to teach in. Come Halloween the kids always used to call here - one year Mr T "hung" a body outside the front door with ketchup for a bloodied throat- they all that was so hilarious they came back later to share their booty with him, declared him "very cool" and so now I let him answer the door!!!

Don't feel a daily comment is obligatory!! I've been having lots of probs with comments but usually on blogger blogs. I had to clear everything which was a pain...and it still doesn't work all the time!

I was admiring a Red Admiral today as it flew over the water at the seaside. Somehow, it seems the right place for such a butterfly. Maybe they retire to Buxton.
