Since I started my morning walks in July I've racked up 81 kilometres, almost 51 miles. Or at least that's what the iPod has recorded, it keeps stopping despite me having locked the screen, so there's a few more unrecorded miles on the clock.
I have two projects finished but not photographed as the weather is so changeable at the moment and each time I remember it's in a gloomy pre-downpour moment. Mostly, it's fine and warmish but when it does decide to rain it really goes for it.
As I'm not going away this summer I decided to make fitness and so on a summer project. I've started the Fast Diet and am impressed with the results so far. I bought the cookery book and can highly recommend the Lo-lo meatballs in tomato sauce. I also did a fish dish that was truly revolting, but then I'm not too much of a fish eater unless you count salmon and plaice! The house stank for two days as well. The stench only finally being overlayed with Brasso after the chimney sweep came and I was so ashamed with the state of the fire irons I actually did something about it.
I don't know if I mentioned how much trouble I'd been having with my face since the sever allergic reaction last summer? Well, ever since, and maybe a bit before, I've had what looks lice acne. It was really getting me down so I went to the doctor. He gave me some paint-stripper and topical antibiotics. I stuck them for two months but went back as they both made me face raw, and I mean raw.
Now I have some oral antibiotics, and after only two weeks my skin is amazingly better. Why are spots always on your face and not your bum? I also went for an organic facial and changed to some new products, fingers crossed thing will go from strength to strength.
The facialist looked at my face and asked if I had any particular stress. I was about to answer 'no' but when I thought about it the answer was really a 'yes'. She thought that was probably having a major effect. I don't like admitting to stress, and don't consider myself stressed really. But there are things going on in the background that aren't resolved and I suppose I do gnarl on them, I'll be glad when some of it is resolved and before I need to go on Ten Years Younger or some such programme!
I've also got to go to the optician on Monday as my glasses have suddenly become useless and I now have problems seeing things that weren't an issue before. I used to wear glasses all the time but then I stopped when we moved abroad, not sure why, and just used them for reading. I have varifocals but don't get headaches if I don't wear them- I just can't see much unless it's a few feet away! People often say I've walked past them in the street, and I rarely say hello to people just in case it's not who I think it is. Been caught out there several times!
Time to admit I'm falling to bits and do something about it all. So this summer really is my self-improvement project. I'll let you know how I get on...
