It's been a very busy week at work, very short staffed and lots of meetings. This has resulted in me having much less of the sort of free time I use for blogging and Flickring and what have you. Added to which I've been doing the fitness walking in the mornings before getting ready for work.
I decided to get up fifteen minutes earlier than usual and do twenty minutes to half an hour marching round. As additional motivation I signed up to a scheme that tracks your walks/runs and posts them to facebook. One's friends are then supposed to offer motivational comments; and there have been some; sprinkled with funny ones from othe friends also on the fitness jag.
All the bumf about zero to 5k running reckons nine weeks should see you right. That's from a standing start; adding little bits of running then more and more running with less and less walking. We'll see. I have broken into a run, but I don't like it. By this I don't mean that it makes me tired, I don't mind that bit. I can put up with panting and sweating as well. I just really don't like the sensation of running. Maybe I'll get over it.
At school I played hockey and netball, where the running bit is incidental. Much preferable. Do you think I'd look odd running round the streets with a hockey stick?
