It's not universally popular, of course, but the Opera Festival is on and the fair has arrived on the Market Place in time for the traditional Wells Dressing celebrations- including the carnival on Saturday. These have been rainy affairs so often the current weather is absolutely all we could ask for.
The weather is set to last, or at least that was the talk recently. But now thunder showers have been forecast for here for...guess when? Of course, Saturday afternoon. We have sports day coming up as well, so they're bound to make an appearance then; the playing field has been in excellent nick recently. A state of affairs that the weather gods will not like at all.
Can I just say for the record that my least popular sort of weather is the muggy, thundery kind. When it's hot but raining and your raincoat sticks to you as you're sweating inside it, so much that it's a relief to take it off and just let the rain do its worst. Please let Saturday not be like that.
On a completely different subject. Electric shocks. Is it just me or does anyone else have an iPod that shocks them when it's on charge? I sometimes get a belt off the kitchen radiator as well. Nothing major, just a bit unpleasant.
I think I attract charge or something. I have set off shop alarms on the way in several times in the past and regularly give the girls (and the poor cats) a good static transfer. Better look out on Saturday now I come to think of it!
