Of course it's snowing, and very cold, the top picture is my mega sized watering can submerged. I dug the car out yesterday, in case of an emergency. But only succeeded in breaking the snow shovel so had to go out and get a new one. I've cleared snow with a garden shovel in the past, never again. They weigh a ton.
The ball is on the pond so that if it freezes completely I can make an access hole to let the gases escape (that's mainly what kills the pond life-trapped gas). At the moment the filter is just keeping the bit under the outpipe clear, which the birds are grateful for.
Only one other happening to report. I woke up very early on Saturday morning knowing something had happened. There'd been a leak. My hot water bottle had sprung a hole and my feet were sopping. Cue to get up and dry out the bed. Funnily enough I'd bought a new bottle only on Thursday. Spooky or what?
Wellies by the door, whiteout beyond the windows. Cat with the best idea...
