Le jour de St Vincent, si le soleil lui comme un chapeau, on aura du vin a pleins tonneaux.
Yes, today is St Vincent's Day, or Sunbeam Day is it was known in days of yore (apparently). Although the pond is roughed up by the wind and the rain is making lovely ringlets around the drops there has been a little blue sky and.... a hint of sun.
I'm taking it that this is, therefore, an auspicious omen of excellent weather to come. Starting tomorrow...
(As you can see, it's not just the English who have these little weather foibles.)
