Every morning there are the same housekeeping rituals, and I generally perform them on auto-pilot. Feed the animals, let them out, get breakfast, put laundry in...you know.
I also have to clean out the cat portaloo, for which the top section removes. The boys love to get under this, Harry is just visible there.
Frank doesn't play fairly, though, and recognises a sitting target when he sees it. Poor Harry can't fight back as the flap is hampering him.
Eventually I took pity and rescued him.
Now they're both just checking there really isn't anyone still inside.
Frank is a bad cat and when he wants something will go to any lengths to get some attention. Take this morning...
MrH is home this weekend and at about 7am he bought me a cup of tea in bed, a real luxury for me. The cats followed him up. (A bit of background info- MrH always feeds the dogs, but can't bear the smell of catfood, so leaves that for me.)
On the bedroom mantelpiece are three precious ornaments. Special things to me. Frank will get on the mantel and make to dabble them, so this morning MrH removed them to safety so I could have the tea without having to leap out of bed to save the ornaments...and go down to feed the cats. (Frank isn't daft, you see, just naughty.)
This arrangement lasted about a minute. There are two small pictures just to the side of the mantel. Just in Frank-range. Out of bed with a leap...and downstairs to feed the cats.
I can hear you asking why I don't just close the door. Tried that. He either howls, and I mean howls; rips at the carpet or takes a run up and barges it open. None of which are particularly relaxing.
I'm one of those people that can't get back in bed once I'm up. Most annoying...
